DORMAC Dock 2 is now able to offer clients more flexibility in terms of docking periods, helping to better meet the client’s needs.

DORMAC Dock 2 has an access ramp for vehicles and crane trucks (which is situated on the quayside and is accessible by vehicles directly on the dock), maximising the options for alternative access solutions.

DORMAC has recently secured a floating crane to service both docks with future plans to secure another crane on Dock 2 (adding to the current 5-tonne crane).

Dock 2 has an impressive 6,8-meter draft, which is deeper than Dock 1 and enhances DORMAC’s abilities for smoother operations!

Since its acquisition, DORMAC Dock 2 has serviced a number of ships and executed large-scale dockings with ballast water treatment upgrades. By the end of 2022, our two floating docks had completed over 160 dockings combined!

DORMAC has sufficient available space for ablution facilities and meeting rooms based on the client specific requirements.

By positioning the dock alongside our existing shipyard, we have made our machine shops, pipe shops, and other facilities easily accessible, helping enhance efficiency for repair teams.

Our research has determined that Dock 2 can address 73% of Durban's port callers' requirements, which is why we have expended a significant amount of resources to upgrade Dock 2. Dormac is now able to offer clients more flexibility in terms of docking periods, helping to better meet the client’s needs.
